Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us

This week, I attended a speakers event to hear Dan Pink speak about motivation and his new book Drive. Although the packed Atrium was extremly hot & stuffy, I enjoyed hearing about Dan’s three main motivators: autonomy, mastery and purpose. He gave great real life examples from Zappos.com and day cares in Israel.

I particularly liked his very practical suggestion to implement the popular 20 percent time concept (from Google) which was to try it as a 1o percent time program which only usually takes up one afternoon a week.

For more on Dan Pink’s interesting concepts on motivation, you can check out his TED talk.
